Kura II PCU team had fruitful meeting in Azersu JSC
On Friday, June 2, 2017 the Kura II PCU had meeting with the representatives of Azersu JSC – the main water supply operator of Azerbaijan.
The heads of several departments of Azersu JSC e.g. head of Technical Production Department Mr. Aydin Abbasov, lead engineer of this department Mr. Magsud Babayev and engineer Ms. Elvira Huseynova, Head of Division for control of technological processes and environment Mr. Zahid Gasimov, head of Water sources and master pipelines management division Mr. Rasim Guliyev, director of scientific research institute within the company Dr. Farda Imanov, head of Planning and quality control department Mr. Bahadur Kangarly and engineer of this department Mr. Fuad Javadzade had attended the meeting.
The CTA and Regional Coordinator of the Kura II project Ms. Mary Matthews and Focal Point of the project in beneficiary organization the head of Environmental Policy sector of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources Mr. Mutallim Abdulhasanov informed the representatives of Azersu JSC about the Kura II project and mentioned about successful cooperation in previous UNDP – GEF project. She introduced the Kura PCU team to Azersu and expressed her confidence that the project team will strengthen existing cooperation traditions which will benefit the company as it is one of the important stakeholders of the project. She provided further detailed information about the aim and components of the project.
Azersu JSC representatives had also expressed their gratitude for considering the company as a main stakeholder and initiating collaboration with the company within the project. They had kindly invited Kura II project team to visit the newly established Training and capacity building center of Azersu in Hovsan district of Baku and laboratories equipped with state of art equipment with capacity to run laboratory analyses of water based on 84 parameters.
Both parties agreed to have regular meetings in line with the work plan of the project in upcoming 3 years with the aim to mutually benefit from the outcomes of the project.
